How does the pricing work?
Wines that are available for purchase by the bottle (nearly all wines on our list) use a 4 tier price model. If you order 6 or more bottles, you will receive a volume discount, so the more you buy, the more you save. The 4 prices are defined as follows:
-
in a straight case of 12: This is the per bottle price you will pay when your cart contains 12 bottles of the same wine. This is the cheapest price available for that wine, equivalent to the 'from' price.
-
in any 12: This is the per bottle price you will pay when your cart contains a combination of 2 or more different wines, adding up to 12 bottles in total. A discount of 10%.
-
in any 6: This is the per bottle price you will pay when your cart contains 6 bottles in total, either the same wine or a mix of wines. A discount of 5%.
-
each: This is the standard per bottle price you will pay when your cart contains less than 6 bottles of wine in total. Orders for less than 6 bottles of wine in total do not qualify for a volume discount.
The shopping cart will automatically adjust the bottle price when you qualify for a mixed or straight case pricing. Until you add the 6th bottle to the cart, you will only qualify for the non-discounted "each" price.
If you order between 6-11 bottles, they will all receive the "In Any 6" discount, and if you order more than 12 bottles, each subsequent bottle will also receive the "in any 12" case price.
If you order more than 12 bottles of the same wine, for example 18, all 18 will be at the "straight" case price.
Please Note: ALL PACKS already have a discount built into their price, so will they will not receive a volume discount, and will not count towards the "in any 12" total.
