Angove Warboys Vineyard Shiraz Grenache 2018
Deep red with intense magenta hues. Highly aromatic spice, star anise and plum from the Shiraz combine with the penetrating forest berries of the Grenache. Delicious dark berry and plum spice, white pepper and a real taste of the Warboys Vineyard fills the mouth. This wine has soft smooth tannins with great length and depth of flavour. This will age well over the next 5 years, but last much longer with careful cellaring.
Angove Warboys Vineyard Shiraz 2018
Rich, bright, vibrant purple with intense magenta hues. Opulent, brooding aromas of ripe red fruits, hints of chocolate, spice and pepper and the promise of things to come. Luscious and seductive plum and red berry notes with blackberry, spice and dark chocolate. Restrained at first but opening up to showcase complex layers of flavour and intensity with great tannin structure and deft use of French Oak.

Angove Warboys Vineyard Shiraz 2018
WINE ENTHUSIAST MAGAZINE - DECEMBER 2020 - 93 POINTS
“The nose of this wine is initially rich and comforting in tones of chocolate and Christmas spices amidst red berry fruit. With time, the fruit gets brighter and more nuanced floral and savory characters emerge. The palate is powerful but poised, with textural tannins and juicy fruit. Drink until 2030 at least.”
GLOBAL ORGANIC MASTERS 2020 - DRINKS BUSINESS MAGAZINE - SILVER 92
Medium ruby, some purple glints. Tiny touch of reduction initially, learning to reveal lots of rich toast and vanilla and black cherry. Medium weight, slight grainy tannin, some ripe sweet red fruit, vanilla and toast, touch of mint, bit of spirit warmth, and just hint of onion reduction in there. But good wine with v ripe sweet fruit. Lot of tannin. Not too concentrated though, just medium weight. Opening up to reveal more on second sample. Still tight though in tannin, almost touch of bitter to tannin, fruit and touch of reduction. Great potential.”
JAMES SUCKLING - WWW.JAMESSUCKLING.COM - JUNE 2020 - 92 POINTS
“Rich and intense aromas of red plums and berries. Nice purity. Some cedary oak here, too. The palate has a handy sense of depth with plenty of red-berry flavor. Smooth texture. Drink or hold.”
WINE SPECTATOR MAGAZINE - AUGUST 2020 - 90 POINTS
“Bold and juicy, with vanilla bean and cream soda accents to the thick berry and plum flavors, complemented by hints of clove and candied violet. The tannins are thick but polished, showing espresso and spice details on the finish. Drink now. 615 cases made, 25 cases imported.” – MaryAnn Worobiec
Angove Warboys Vineyard Shiraz Grenache 2017
JAMES SUCKLING - WWW.JAMESSUCKLING.COM - JUNE 2020 - 90 POINTS
“This has rich and bright, ripe red-fruit aromas and flavors with a very intense, red-plum palate, at the riper end of the grenache fruit zone. Smooth tannins. Drink now.”
WINE ENTHUSIAST MAGAZINE - BUYING GUIDE - JUNE/JULY 2020 - 91 POINTS
This Grenache, from Angove’s oldest block of organic vines, requires some time in the glass or decanter to fully reveal itself. When it does, the ripe red-berry fruit is vibrant, the florals pretty and the use of whole bunch apparent in the form of cocktail bitters. Accents of mushroom, earth and vanilla add character. The palate is tightly wound and austere, but the silky, plush fruit is there behind the taut, granular tannins, hinting at an elegance that will emerge with time.
