Winemaker's notes

The Gemstone range is estate grown and certified Organic and Biodynamic. Picked when flavour maturity is at its prime, the Gemstone wines are bright, fleshy and should be consumed and enjoyed in their youth.

VINTAGE CONDITIONS:

2018 was our 11th year of farming biodynamically and we are seeing wines that have purity and expression. We experienced a very dry summer ahead of the 2018 vintage, with only half the annual rainfall compared to the 2017 growing season. January and February were warm to hot so vintage was in full swing by February. The whites and rose were harvested and in the winery by the second week of February. The flavours were bright and the acids balanced, resulting in wines that are delicious drinking.
