Colour: A great colour, dark red with a red purple hue – a clear indication the wine has escaped the harmful effects of oxidation despite the absence of the antioxidant sulphur dioxide.
Bouquet: Dark fruit, plum skin, liqueur cherry, char and toast with a hint of stewed rhubard.
Palate:A big rich full bodied wine with plum skin, ribena, dark cherry, chocolate and red skin flavours. The tannins are noticeable yet soft and velvety with good persistence of flavour and a plummy aftertaste.
