The Pinot Noir is planted on the steepest section of Martins Hill to avoid late Spring frosts. The grapes were hand picked starting at dawn on February 18th at a temperature of 22 degrees celcius. The wine has a rich varietal nose and a firm palate reflecting the quality of the 16 year old vines. The use of old oak gives the wine a fine balance between wood and pinot fruit flavours.
The Story
Open fermentation and then given a year in old oak barrels.
