Our regular crew began hand picking at dawn 22nd March, with an unusually cool start of only 8°. However, jackets soon came off as the day reached 24° by the time harvest was complete, around midday. Dry conditions during the ripening period contributed to the intense colour, full body and flavour. This was helped along, of course, by the absence of chemical inputs in our vineyard.
