Winery/Brand: Martins Hill

 

The Pinot Noir is planted on the steepest section of Martins Hill to avoid late Spring frosts. The grapes were harvested by our regular crew of hand pickers on an unusually cool 14°C February morning. The fruit had such a strong flavour, we elected to give the wine much longer than usual in wood, so as to achieve the elusive "perfect" balance between wood and fruit in Pinot Noir. Ready to drink upon release, but would cellar well for 5 years.
