Tasting notes from the winery for Ngarto Syrah Viognier 2019
The NGARTO Syrah Viognier 2019 has a vibrant fruit driven nose lifted by the aromatics of the Viognier. The palate is alive with red berries & blood plum fruit, spice and liquorice. This syrah viognier blend has very approachable tannins and is perfect to drink now.
Winery: Planted on a westerly facing slope on the immediate foothills of the Mt Barker Summit at 420m altitude, the soil of the Iluma vineyard sparkles with micaceous schist amidst a shallow sandy loam over clay. A challenging viticultural site with the potential for very distinctive wines.
Ngarto: is a collaboration wine between Ngeringa winemaker Erinn Klein and Sydney based chef and good friend Brendan Cato. It is a playful biodynamic wine from Syrah and Viognier grapes, made in the style of a northern Rhône wine region of France.
