Oscillating between ripe blackberries stolen from your neighbour’s back fence and wild fennel seeds harvested along a country roadside this wine keeps you intrigued waiting for further revelations like cocoa and star anise.
A medium to full-bodied wine with fresh mulberries on the palate entrance. The texture feels like floating over rolling hills in a smooth convertible, opening up like a view over an expansive valley at the crest of the last hill. Elongated by careful maturation in French oak barriques, the finish is like watching a glowing sunset at the end of an action-packed day.

Vinification
Individual parcels from each vineyard were picked at optimum sugar, acid and flavour balance. These parcels remained separate throughout vinification and blended prior to bottling. Fermentation began after gently de-stemming the fruit into both open and static fermenters. During fermentation, each parcel was plunged and pumped over twice a day for 2 weeks, to extract flavour, colour and tannin compounds. The ferments were then pressed to a combination of new and mature French oak barriques (225 L) and puncheons (500 L), where they were nurtured for 12 months prior to blending and bottling.

93 Points: James Halliday
A near-perfect introduction to a medium-bodied McLaren Vale shiraz, generous in nature, ample in its frame, with fresh and poached blackberry fruits, a lick of dark chocolate and soft tannis. Drink to 2030.
93/100
It's immediately appealing on the nose showing perfumed aromas of dark berry and floral with nuances of warm spice and roasted nuts. The succulent palate is smooth and fleshy with youthful charm and flow, making it delectably drinkable. At its best: now to 2028.

91/100
A deep purple throughout the glass. Plums, bitter wood herbs and iodine aromas. Medium-weight but great fruit intensity. The tannins are bold but resolve well within the flow and step up to another level to dry the finish. A lot of wine for the price and drinking
