Winery/Brand: Pig In The House
A nose of plums, pepper and savoury dried herbs. On the palate there is red currants and some black fruit, more spice and earthiness. Medium bodied and generous carrying the 14% alcohol easily. Oak influence is very subtle on the finish with some dusty tannins.
The Story
Pig In The House Shiraz is a rich spicy vino with lots of pepper, clove and ripe plum. We have been producing the Pig Shiraz at the Cowra organic site for over 10 years and its a crowd favourite. Oink Oink.
Pig in The House wines are grown and made in Cowra New South Wales. We believe that our organic farming practices produce wines which are unique to our region. We planted vineyard in the mid 1990s on land which was once a free-range piggery; so free that the pigs were often in the house. The locals still ask whether the pig is still in the house. Most of the time the answer is no.
