“What a rare treat to have an 11yo vintage sparkling of this quality and for this price. This luxurious Sparkling stacks up very well against Vintage Champagnes selling for threee times the price. Elegance, richness and power prevail here.”
Rich straw in colour the mousse is creamy with a fine persistent bead. Alluring aromas of citrus, danish pastries, brine and flor-like scents. The palate is smooth and commanding with a lovely balance of Pinot Noir fruit and the zesty natural acidity of cool climate Chardonnay character. This delightful wine is complex and multi-layered, with excellent texture and persistence of flavour.
Tasting notes from the winery for Stefano Lubiana Grande Vintage 2010
The Grande Vintage wines are made to show off the vintage they were grown in, selecting the best parcels of fruit to give freshness, elegance, balance and intensity. Only made in the best years, they are drier and more refined than the NV and are made entirely from the one vintage.
A blend of estate-grown, single-vineyard Chardonnay (60%) & Pinot Noir (40%). The fruit comes from a mix of two terroirs: grey gravelly loams over clay and red loam over gravel. At the time of harvest the vineyards were organically managed, in conversion to biodynamic certification. The base wines go through 100% malolactic conversion and the wine is according to the méthode traditionnelle. Our 2010 Grande Vintage was tiraged on the 18th August, five months post-harvest. It spent nine years on lees until disgorging on the 16th of November 2018, with a dosage of 4g/l added at this time. Extra time under cork has allowed gentle development.

Their much sought-after wines are the result of a passionate unrelenting quest for perfection. This passion, along with free thinking and attention to detail allows them to create wines which reflect this vision. Their focus on traditional and environmentally sensitive principals has only strengthened their desire to create wines that have a unique and distinctive character, with free-flowing elegance and quality.
