Tasting Notes for Hero of Zero Pinot Noir 2023 from the Winery

Light in colour, this is a soft Pinot Noir with raspberry, cherry, mixed spices, and a subtle earthy note. There's real Pinot Noir character evident making it very flavoursome and moreish. Dark fruited with soft tannins and perfect on its own or with food, particularly a duck confit on baby lentils.

The Hero wines are hand-crafted from the best quality fruit sourced from premium vineyards across South Australia, including McLaren Vale and the Barossa. With meticulous handling in the vineyard and winery, the pristine fruit will have less exposure to anything harmful that may normally require the addition of preservatives. Our wines are crafted to be brightly coloured, exotically fragrant, full-flavoured and critically, they sing without the addition of preservatives. Perfectly suited to many cuisines, these wines are also crafted to ensure they are suitable for Vegans.

Winemaking

Healthy and problem free fruit is selected in the vineyard  and then picked in the cool of the night and then rushed to the nearby winery for a fast and focused vinification. Fermentation is cool in a closed static fermenter before a short maturation on lees and bottling.
