Tasting notes from the winery for Yangarra Preservative Free Shiraz 2022
The PF Shiraz is a preservative free, fruit-driven Shiraz that is intentionally produced to be enjoyed as a young wine. The grapes are grown without herbicides, fungicides or synthetic chemicals and no additions of any kind are used in the winemaking process, such as sulphur (preservative), acid, tannin or finings. The PF Shiraz is medium bodied, showcasing fresh and vibrant fruit characters.
VINTAGE SUMMARY The 2022 growing season followed very similar conditions to 2021, though slightly cooler. There were favourable winter rains and a mild flowering and fruit set period. The cool ripening period took place between late January through to harvest in March. Yields were well balanced, and we are pleased with the fruit ripeness, intensity, freshness, and natural acidity. The Shiraz was picked early throughout the week of the 17th - 21st March.
WINEMAKING De-stemmed and selectively sorted to open fermenter. Wild fermentation, 12 days on skins and pressed to tank. Maturation for 5 months in stainless steel. No additions were used throughout entire production. Bottled October 2022.

Destemmed and sorted with wild fermentation and 5 months maturation in stainless steel. Red cherries, raspberry and black currants. Harissa spice with notes of caraway, red clay and wild thyme. Black olive and blood plums. It's all about freshness in this wine and built for weeknight drinking. A spaghetti bolognese, a pepperoni pizza, this wine has its place in any home and on any occasion. 2022 vintage
Fermented wild, basket pressed, no additives, preservative free. Fresh, well-structured, ripe but not overtly sweet in its flavour profile. This goes alright and then some. It’s a bit jubey and a bit plummy with clove and blueberry-like highlights. Nice. Good. Worth buying/drinking.
